THE STORY - PART THREE
Long salty days spent in collaboration with the sun and the sea marked both myself and the canvas. Expanding into my largest pieces of art, I let the landscape into my process. My playground, the emerald cove.
The night brought the stars. Our abode being the only residence this side of the island brought a spectacular dance of the sky. You'll spot stars as motif throughout this body of work. They whisper of hidden places that could be rather dark, but instead reveal treasures unseen.
Holding the natural world as a mirror to our inner world. A gentle curiosity into the way we perceive our own story. Finding things are not always as they seem.
Awash in vibrant blues, a celebration of water itself; shimmering, playful and ever-changing. Each piece carries the rhythm and radiance of the Aegean it was bathed in.

From rooftops washed in the glow of the setting sun to hillsides scattered with Spring wildflowers, and emerald waters where sheets of canvas floated gently upon the Aegean, Amanda painted in constant conversation with the landscape. Volcanic ash found its way into pigment. Salt settled into canvas. Light became colour.
Every painting feels like it remembers the place that made it.
The result is more than an artistic body of work. The Colour of Water is a personal journal, a meditation on presence, and an invitation to witness a season of creation shaped by sea, stone and light."
